Jeppe on the Hill

Jeppe on the Hill is a comedy from 1722 by Ludvig Holberg. Its original title was Jeppe paa Bierget eller den forvandlede Bonde ("Jeppe on the Hill; or The Transformed Peasant"). Holberg took his inspiration for the comedy from the novel Utopia (1604) by the German author Jacob Bidermann, a novel that has a similar storyline to Holberg’s comedy.
