More about Verk Produksjoner

Fredrik Hannestad, Saila Hyttinen and Thomas Storm established the company Bal-Teatret in Fyn, Denmark in 1993, after graduating from Institute for Performing Arts and Nordic Theatre School in Aarhus. In 1998 Verk Produksjoner AKA Verk Productions was founded in Norway, co-producing the following productions in collaboration with Bal: Jet Hotel, Haven var helt hvit (based on The Cherry Orchard by Chekhov) and Happy Doctor.

Except for a determining break with Bal-Teatret and Thomas Storm after Happy Doctor in 2000, the collaboration has been surprisingly stable. Since then Verk Produksjoner AKA Verk Productions has consisted of the following members: Fredrik Hannestad, Saila Hyttinen, Anders Mossling, and from 2003 Per Platou. Verk Produksjoner is an actor-based ensemble working with text-based theatre. Since 2002 Verk Produksjoner has worked with dramatic texts.

Iphigeneia by Finn Iunker, produced by Verk Produksjoner AKA Verk Productions in collaboration with Black Box Teater was nominated for The Hedda Award 2007 in the theatre project of the year category.
