Carmen

Carmen (1961) was an opera production by The Norwegian National Opera. Carmen was based on an opera of the same title by Georges Bizet (music), and Henri Meilhac and Ludovic Halévy (libretto), after a novella by Prosper Mérimée. The production was performed by The Norwegian National Opera in Folketeateret.

The director was Ivo Cramér. The production was revived by Einar Beyron in 1964.

Eva Gustavson,  Kerstin Meyer, Kerstin Dellert, Maiju Kuusoja, Irma Rewell, Edith Thallaug, Libuše Márová, Joyce Blackham and Hannak Codinas performed the role of Carmen.

Egil Frostmann, Bjarne Buntz, Kolbjørn Høiseth, Ragnar Ulfung, Arne Hendriksen, Ragnar Ulfung and Jonny Blanc performed the role of Don José.

Yngvar Krogh, Olav Eriksen, Odd Woldstad and Knut Skram performed the role of Escamillo.
