From the programme for The Phantom and Guran play the classics from BIT Teatergarasjen:

“Director Morten Cranner and visual artist Bjørn Kolbjørnsen have taken “great” classic dramas by Shakespeare, Ibsen and Beckett, among others, and placed them in a new context. The Phantom and Guran have helped themselves to the world’s drama, play all the roles, and present well known and loved classics in a new and playful format. The Phantom and Guran relate to the texts from their own personae, familiar to several generations. The result is an informal illustration of the classics.

The production was supported by Arts Council Norway and the forerunner of The Audio and Visual Fund.”

The seven evenings present different dramas, and each evening’s performance has a different title. On Friday 13 September, the performance is called Waiting for Godot – Theatre?; Saturday 14 September: Romeo and Juliet – Guran’s little girl’s dream; Sunday 15 September: The Holberg Suite, the book of Ecclesiastes and Landscape with Argonauts – a Mass; Tuesday 17 September: Peer Gynt (Ibsen?) – The Norwegian ghost who walks …; Wednesday 18 September: Hamlet – A long day’s journey into a bloodbath; Thursday 19 September: Oh, so sad – after T. Egner/Karius and Baktus and Krapp’s Last Tape; Friday 20 September: Someone is Going to Come – by Jon Fosse
