Det Andre Teatret AKA The Other Theatre
Det Andre Teatret AKA The Other Theatre, Norway’s first and only theatre focusing on improvisation,opened its doors in September 2011.
During the year we produce play different shows and arrange courses and workshops for both children and adults. We show international and Norwegian guest plays.
The theatre has a large group og volunteers who help keeping the place running, by selling tickets, cleaning, tidying, rigging etc. We have a small, but amazing, staff who, together with the ensemble, form the backbone of the theatre.
In the theatre’s salon we have Den Andre Caféen (The Other Café).

The story began in 2008 when a small group from the Teater Liksom decided that the city needed a place that could supply more improvisational theatre. The group eventually found Ivan Bjørndalsgate 9 and aided by savings, collected funds and lots and lots of volunteer work, they got this little place up and running.
