Studio Teater

Studio Teater (literally: Studio Theatre) was a Norwegian theatre company established in 1978 in Trondheim. In its productions Studio Teater emphasised improvisation in addition to physical and visual effects.

In 1985 the company made the ice theatre project Litt av et sammentreff* (Quite a coincidence). Sezuan (1991) was a collaborative production made by Studio Teater, Hålogaland Theatre, Beaivváš Sámi Teahter AKA The Norwegian National Sami Theatre Company and Sampo Teater in Kautokeino and Tromsø. The production was performed in a stage decoration built by 2500 tons of ice and snow.

After 1991 the theatre has performed Sangen om Rama* (The song about Rama), a performance for the family, based on the Indian epic Ra, written for the company by Tor Åge Bringsværd. Livet i Arktica* (Life in the Arctic) by Coby Omvlee was made in 1993.
