Richard Maxwell
Richard Maxwell is an American theatre director and playwright. He is artistic director for the theatre company New York City Players. Maxwell's plays have been staged by a number of theatres all over the world and are translated to several languages.

In 2001 Richard Maxwell was included in Entertainment Weekly's list of the 100 most creative persons in American art. He has been hailed as one of the leading innovators in American experimental theatre by New York Times.
Since the start in New York in 1994 Maxwell has developed his very own trademark: A soft-spoken acting style cultivating neutrality and non-acting and striving after being onstage. He works with professional actors and amateurs, because he means the latter brings a particular vocabulary and set of rules to the stage.
