Drummer Wanted
Drummer Wanted by New York City Players/Richard Maxwell (USA) was a theatre production unravelling the co-dependent relationship between Frank, a semi-professional drummer with a broken leg and irreparably damaged dreams, and Mom, a real-estate agent who offers to stay home from work to nurse him back to health.

About Drummer Wanted by New York City Players/Richard Maxwell the following could be read in the program of Black Box Teater:
"With minimalist precision and a generous helping of tragicomedy Maxwell and NYCP let this duo circle each other in a poisonous pas-de-deux in which both test the vulnerability of the other. The expression can be characterised by a near flat, mechanic acting style combined with aggression on a loud volume."
BIT Teatergarasjen described Richard Maxwell and his work like this:
"Since the beginning in New York in 1994 Maxwell has developed his unique trademark. A toned-down acting style cultivating neutrality and non-acting, striving for being onstage. He works with professional actors and amateurs he finds bringing a vocabulary and a set of rules of their own to the stage. Drummer Wanted displays the topography in the daily lives of two persons, a search for beauty and metaphysics among the small rhythms of human interaction and communication."
Richard Maxwell is among the most influential directors and playwrights of New York theatre. His work has been produced increasingly around the USA and in Europe and includes performances like House, Boxing 2000, Drummer Wanted and Caveman.
The visiting performance was presented by The National Touring Network for Performing Arts in collaboration with Performance Space 122 (PS122), New York.
