Teaterselskap* (Theatre Party)
Teaterselskap* (Theatre Party) in The Open Theatre (Det Åpne Teater) the spring of 2009 was a theatre party for children aged three years or more, with the texts Plopp by Gyrid Axe Øvsteng and Lars by Un-Magritt Nordseth. The two new short texts both revolved around being scared and what to do about it.
Teaterselskap was part of the art project Kunst for barn* (Art for Children), a collaboration project between The Open Theatre (Det Åpne Teater) and The Norwegian Institute for Children’s Literature.

Teaterselskap in The Open Theatre (Det Åpne Teater) asked the child spectator: Have you ever been afraid? Or have you ever had to do something you didn’t really dare doing?
In the two productions the children met Plopp and Lars who both have to do things they fear a little.
After the first half of the performance had been performed, drama pedagogue Lisa Nagel brought the children into the performance. The children were allowed to create something they’d think someone else would fear. Next, the art of the children was used as a stage decoration in the second half of the performance, lit by the light design. After there was a party with hot dogs and waffles.
In Plopp Gyrid Axe Øvsteng collaborated with actress Anne Kokkin. In Lars Un-Magritt Nordseth choreographed and instructed the dancer Lars Jacob Holm in the story about Lars who is afraid of the dark and what can hide in the dark.
