Deli Commedia

In Deli Commedia (2004) Baktruppen was inspired by their previously show, Do&Undo, where Baktruppen for the first time danced. From there Baktruppen went to Rui Horta's dance convent in Portugal.

More

Baktruppen indulged in pure dance delight. By keeping their minds on what their bodies were doing, Baktruppen learned Merce Cunningham's film "Deli Commedia" by heart. During this copy work a brand-new empty-headed state of being originated. Having reached this level of dance experience, the second dance practically made itself. By way of constants like entrance, turning point and exit Baktruppen managed to find directions which lead to applause.

Press coverage

Örjan Abrahamsson, Childish and a little ingenious, 02.05.2004, Dagens Nyheter:
"How cool can it be to watch seven adult Norwegians wearing glaring, colour-screaming tricots do flips, turn somersaults and trample around stage when they do not aimlessly play fake one stringed violins? Actually very, very cool. And uniquely good."

Anna Ånhström, Appealing joy of life in tight tricots, 04.05.2004, Svenska Dagbladet:
"The members of Baktruppen are now scenic newcomers but they do act like a bunch of happy kids who unknowingly imitate the codes of modern dance and gymnastics without caring about their physical shortcomings."
