In the Oktoberdans program from 1999 the following is written about Painandagain ...andagain:
"Through dance and text she discusses the sneaking idea there is a strengthening force behind it all, and modern New Age phenomena are commented on.
To show that the karma of life is about Painandagain ...andagain she uses the myth about the fallen angel and the snake in Paradise. Stylistically we find elements from cabaret to Japanese Butoh."
In 1998 Ellen Johannesen won the jubilee award of Performing Arts Hub Norway for Painandagain ...andagain.
