USF Verftet
The art and culture arena USFVerftet in Bergen is managed by the foundation Kulturhuset USF (literally: the culture centre USF). USF has been, and is, a culture centre in the widest and deepest of terms. USF is a place for people and for people’s need for mental and spiritual input.

USF Verftet consists of several different venues for music, art, movies and theatre and it is used by performing artists and audience, but the unique aspect of USF is not just all the venues located under the same roof. In addition come 80 artist workshops plus offices and other localities for cultural actors within private and public enterprise. Every day near 200 persons arrive at this former sardine factory to perform their daily work. Today we count a total of 120 enterprises within all professional art and culture fields. Nowhere else in Norway can one find such a varied, diverse artist environment and experience offering under the same roof. Rock and ballet, contemporary music and shanty choirs, silent movies and 3D animation, amateur and professional – in USF diversity rules seven days a week.
