Theatre Albatross
Theatre Albatross is a Swedish theatre ensemble. Its productions are dissimilar from most of what you can see onstage. Theatre Albatross combines strong stories with an extremely well-developed physical theatre style, creating magnificent and bizarre images. Facts are mixed with myths, and the brutality and evil steps forward helped by a healthy dose of absurd humour.

For the Swedish ensemble Theatre Albatross the physical has as much of a significance as the words and the voice. The ensemble has a characteristic performance style in which dance and mimic movements express the dramaturgic elements stronger than the text.
In 2009, Theatre Albatross could celebrate 20 years as an ensemble. The theatre group is highly inspired by the Polish theatre artist Jerzy Grotowsky and his mixture consisting of a mostly physical stage expression and metaphysical imagery. The ensemble has its base in Tokalynga Teaterakademi, where it regularly arranges classes in physical theatre.
