Tøfflus
From the production "Jul i Skomakergata" ("Christmas on Cobbler Street"), produced by NRK.
Tøfflus (roughly translatable as "Slippery") lives under the worktop in cobbler Jens Petrus Andersen’s shop. Tøfflus likes parsley, is very shy and doesn’t like to be seen by anyone except the cobbler.
Tøfflus is a muppet that was created for NRK’s advent calendar programme «Jul i Skomakergata» ("Christmas on Cobbler Street"). The programme was first broadcast in December 1979 (24 episodes). «Jul i Skomakergata» had repeat broadcasts in 1981, 1984, 1988, 1993 and 2003.

Teaterfigur
Teaterfigurer, bedre kjent som teaterdukker, har spilt på norske scener i generasjoner, til stor glede for publikum i alle aldersgrupper.
The concept for the character was developed by Bjørn Rønningen, who wrote the script and also composed the music for «Jul i Skomakergata». Mona Wiig designed and created Tøfflus. The programme was directed by Grete Høien.
Performer: Åsmund Huser.
The role of the cobbler was performed by Henki Kolstad, whose character was a kind and pleasant man on whom the community was very dependent. His shop bench had a square opening covered by a green curtain, and it was here that Tøfflus (the cobbler’s best friend) lived. In the short scenes with Andersen and Tøfflus, the viewers caught glimpses of the lonely cobbler’s private existence.

Tøfflus was made of soft, brown glove leather. The hair, which resembles a hippie style, is made of stiff goat’s hair with a headband to hold it in place. The eyes are made of wooden half-spheres, painted black and glued onto white felt. An inner cover made to fit the performer’s hand was constructed so that the puppet could be operated.
Tøfflus’ mouth is operated by the performer’s hand; the thumb in the lower jaw and the fingers in the upper jaw. This hand position is helped by the inner cover which was constructed to fit the performer’s hand. Precision and rhythm of performance give this puppet its character.
