Sigrid Undset's trilogy of novels is known as one of world literature's finest portrayals of women, and contributed to her winning The Nobel Prize in literature in 1928. Svein Sturla Hungnes has adapted the masterpiece into a musical, and the music is composed by Julian Berntzen, who was also behind The People of Hellemyr."
