Portuguese contemporary drama

Portuguese contemporary drama; staged readings in The Open Theatre (Det Åpne Teater) in collaboration with Artistas Unidos (Portugal). Three new plays and three young Portuguese playwrights were presented during The Contemporary Stage Festival 2007. Associated with the project The Open Theatre (Det Åpne Teater) published the three Portuguese texts in Norwegian through the drama book series Åpen Tekst (literally: Open Text) in the book Åpen Tekst 1 (literally: Open Text 1).

Noon: Octavio in The World by Jacinto Lucas Pires (translated by Wetle Holtan in collaboration with Liv Anne Bjurgren), examines possible lines of events in a drama for youth with computer game dramaturgy. What do you want to do right now?

12.45 p.m:The One Bedroom Flat by José Maria Vieira Mendes (translated by Maria Ræder). Four young people, four flats, one single room. Is now when the seriousness starts?

2.15 p.m: Conversation with Patricia Portela. José Maria Vieira Mendes and Jacinto Lucas Pires.

2.45 p.m: Odilia by Patricia Portela (translated by Wetle Holtan) takes the audience on a journey through the house of ideas. Where does it all start?

4.30 p.m: Reception and launching of the book Åpen Tekst 1 (literally: Open Text 1) in the bar Oslo Mekaniske Verksted.
