At the webpage of Pøbelkompaniet, the following, among other things, is written about Underland - The Cloud:

"In a smart(phone) world, in which everything can be, will be and is stored in the cloud, we meet a mythical woman from the past in the dawn of her life. Our Lady of Oblivion is about to die, and the cloud does not wait patiently. As the cloud invades her old world, life shimmers in front of her eyes. Or is it our lives, our collectively forgotten moments?

We live in a world where our habits and movements online and in life elsewhere are surveyed, stored and documented to a steadily increasing degree. Algorithms collect metadata in unimaginable amounts, and we broadcast our own private lives at a growing platform of social media. What happens with us in a reality where everything is saved and remembered for us, collected in a floating cloud somewhere up there?

Underland - The Cloud is a modern audiovisual fable about the cloud, surveillance and what it means to be human in this epoch of unforeseen technological opportunities. We want to bury human memory and our ability to forget what it is unimportant or unwanted to remember. We want to dive into, or rather up in, a world in which oblivion no longer exists."
