Peer Gynt

Peer Gynt (1997) was a theatre production by The Norwegian Touring Theatre, based on the play by Henrik Ibsen. It went on an arena tour to Norwegian sports halls the autumn of 1997, with its tour opening in Skien.

Stein Winge directed it.

Jan Grønli played the title role. He had interpreted it before, as early as 1978, for Rogaland Theatre.

Anna Guttormsgaard played the role of the young Solveig, and Sossen Krohg the old.

The production was part of The Norwegian Touring Theatre's Peer Gynt project of 1997, in which four new adaptations of Peer Gynt went on tour in Norway. The four were Peer Gynt, Peer Pressure, Peer du lyver!* (Peer, you're lying!) and Gjøglernes Peer Gynt* (The Jesters' Peer Gynt).

*Not yet translated into the English. The title within parentheses is the Norwegian title's literal meaning.
