"Felix (Nils Vogt) has been thrown out of his home by his wife, and in despair he goes to his dear friend Oscar (Sven Nordin), asking to live with him. Oscar has a large apartment, many friends, and likes to play poker and enjoy himself - whereas Felix is pedantic and a hypochondriac, obsessed with cleaning, and aching to remake all of Oscar's routines."
Neil Simon wrote two versions of the same play, one with men in the leading roles, one led by women. The male version was written first, with its world premiere in 1965, and it is often referred to as The Odd Couple (male version), whereas the female version had its world premiere in 1985, and is often referred to as The Odd Couple (the female version).
