Swan Lake

Swan Lake (1967) was a ballet production by The Norwegian National Opera. The music for Swan Lake was composed by Peter Tchaikovsky. The production was performed on The Norwegian National Opera’s main stage in Folketeateret.

Choreography: Marius Petipa / Lev Ivanov / Sonia Arova (coach).

Hanne SkramMarte Sæther (in her first major role for The Norwegian National Opera), Leonie Leahy, Ellen Kjellberg, Bernadette TabourNatalia Bessmertnova and Gaye Fulton danced the role of Odette.

Anne Borg, Kari Wengård (Blakstad) and Bjørg Pahle danced the role of Odile.

Palle DammThor SutowskiRoger Lucas, James de BoltAlexander Tikhonov and Hans Meister danced Prince Siegfried.

Thor SutowskiRonald FrazierAnthony Greeves and Frederic Konrad danced the role of Von Rothbart.

Rudolf Nureyev made a guest appearance as Prince Siegfried – with Sonia Arova as Odette / Odile.

Swan Lake was performed in Stavanger in 1970.
