More

At the webpage of Black Box Teater the following, among other things, is written about Faust for kids:

"Faust is eager to get to know all there is to know about all there is, he tries to solve the mysteries of the universe. Faust reads and reads, he keeps becoming wiser and wiser, but he also keeps becoming older. The more he learns, the more his frustration in all things he doesn't know grows.

Faust is already an old man and now his time on earth nears its end, and still there are many things he has not had the time to examine. This is when the crooked devil Mephisto sees his chance to trap Faust. Mephisto promises that Faust will have all his wishes on earth fulfilled. But in return Faust has to promise the devil his soul for eternity, when he dies.

But what is a soul, really? And how long does all eternity last? Faust so strongly wants to find the answers to his questions he gives in to temptation and accepts the devil's deal.

In Faust for kids the actors Maria, Tora and Anders take us along on the journey through Goethe's Faust. Goethe is one of the most well-known European writers throughout the ages. And just this story is considered his masterpiece. The performance is suitable for children aged ten years or more, whether they meet the story for the first time, or know it and need a refreshed perspective on Goethe."

Press coverage

Karen Frøsland Nystøyl, Gledelig ambisiøst barneteater (literally: Delightfully ambitious theatre for children), 23.10.2012, NRK [Oslo]:
"Classics for kids dares to pose the difficult and interesting questions, and they dare to take the children along on a journey they should be fully capable to find delight in."

Anna Valberg, Faust som Halloween-grøsser (literally: Faust as a Halloween horror story)23.10.2012, Scenekunst.no [Oslo]:
"In Faust for kids sound and lighting are disturbing, Halloween-like, in switching between warm and white, with the sounds of bees and birds and love songs, to haggard, dirty light and hard techno music. The sound image of the performance is beautiful, dark and rich in detail."
