@lice
@lice was a dance and concert performance about love in computer-ruled times, choreographed by Kjersti Alveberg on commission from The Norwegian Touring Theatre and Concerts Norway.
@lice used musicians, singers, dancers and puppets in onstage interaction.
Tormod Lindgren won The Hedda Award 2008 in the category of special artistic achievement for his stage design.
The Hedda Jury gave the following reason:
"Despite many good, solid artistic efforts, all in all the theatre season 2007/2008 has been a regular season. But the year is also characterised by different productions telling of renewal of Norwegian theatre.
This year's winner is a capable representative of the new direction. He has given a convincing, visual presentation of love incyberspace, and managed to create stage design triggering the imagination, while not settling with merging with the dance, it also wanted to promote it.
Tormod Lindgren gets the special artistic achievement award for his (literally) illuminating stage design for @lice, an innovative collaboration project by The Norwegian Touring Theatre and Concerts Norway."

"Kjersti Alveberg can better than this. Here are too many individual components to consider. The thinking is good, but the realisation is not good enough. The performance is, shortly summed up, showing the vulnerability online. It is spiced with humour, sweetness, sentimentality, a little bit of irony and daredevilness. When the performers represent as widely different standpoints come to quality and competence it becomes vulnerable. Here too. On the floor."

"@lice is not a dance performance. True, there is a lot of dance here, but the story is to the same degree created through text, music, sound, puppetry and visual effects. Dance is both narrative and abstract. And with the dance the story is pulled forward by the text, to a large degree consisting of Alice's thoughts. The stage design, the video art, the music and the sound create the space - pulling us into a fascinating, distinct internet world. The production would not be the same without any of these artistic expressions.
In other words, the interdisciplinary expression is so complex every expression is needed to carry the history and the theme. If this is to work optimally, a high degree of interaction between the performers is needed, because here music and theatre are being played, and it is sung and danced live. Five days prior to opening it seems promising that such an interaction can be achieved."
