Hvit som snø* (White as Snow)
Hvit som snø * (White as Snow) (1985) was a puppetry production by Petrusjka Teater, loosely based on Alexander Pushkin's fairytale poem about Snow White, The Tale of the Dead Princess.
Ole Bruun-Rasmussen and Anne-Grete Bergsland directed it.
Hvit som snø was about a young girl's dawning idea of herself as a woman, about jealousy between mother and daughter, about feeling rejected by one's parents, and about maturing to take responsibility for oneself.
*Not yet translated into the English. The title within parentheses is the Norwegian title's literal meaning.

Writer and date unknown, Aftenposten [Oslo]:
"Here, it is about a fairytale of the good old kind - The Tale of a Dead Princess by Pushkin, near indistinguishable from the story of Snow White. The form is different than the usual, as it is told without words. The music and the stage design, and obviously also the expressive puppets floating around the room, are to talk in their own fairytale-like language. As all good productions for children, the action also relates to a reality the children can recognise."
