Shock-Headed Peter

Shock-Headed Peter is a theatre production for children, produced by Boa Scenekunst in collaboration with Nordland Visual Theatre. It is based on the famous educational catechism of Heinrich Hoffmann by the same name.

Using grotesque stories, animated film, song and cataclysmic proofs Busteper demonstrates just how bad things can go it one doesn’t cut one’s hair or one’s nails, or if one doesn’t eat fish!

More

In Shock-Headed Peter by Boa Scenekunst the audience is invited into the imaginary world of the main character Mary. She is to be brought up, and she meet the strict bringer upper Victoria and her hard-hitting perfectionism, as well as the more whimsical methods of the tired Gordon. Using grotesque stories, screaming mandolin, insisting rhyming song and animated film the audience gets to see sinister evidence of how bad things can go if one misbehaves.

In Shock-Headed Peter an eager trio is warring misbehaviour and dirty manners. Will the trio succeed in freeing our country from free parenting? Shock-Headed Peter is a macabre performance with bonnets, saws, scissors and humour.

Due to Shock-Headed Peter a webpage is made, www.busteper.no, dealing with the full process of making a theatre performance, from idea to opening. The wish is to stimulate pupils and teachers to make theatre of their own.

Shock-Headed Peter by Boa Scenekunst is co-produced by Nordland Visual Theatre and presented in close collaboration with Grimfilm. The project was supported by Arts Council Norway, The Fund for Performing Artists, The Cultural Rucksack and the municipality of Ålesund.
