Kiasma - Museum of Contemporary Art was established in 1998 under the umbrella of the Finnish National Gallery.
Kiasma's program includes exhibitions presenting Finnish and international contemporary art, collection displays, performances in the Kiasma Theatre, workshops, seminars and lectures.
The name derives from 'chiasm', which stands for an intersection, particularly the crossing of optic nerves.
