Mr Nilsson

The performance Mr Nilsson – I Memo of Time by Maus & Orlovski springs out from the relationship between humans and animals – in particular the remarkable similarities between human and chimpanzee. How can it be that a human can’t imagine how it is to be a chimpanzee even though there are just minor differences between us? The production got a fair share of attention internationally.

Maus & Orlovski is a performance company led by the Finnish director and playwright Tuija Kokkonen. The company has produced site-specific performance series about the relation between nature and culture, the human and inhuman, the organic and the non-organic. Mr Nilsson - I memo of time was the first production in a series about how man/woman relate to animal, death and his/her own imagination.

Mr Nilsson – I Memo of Time was supported by Arts Council of Finland, City of Helsinki Cultural Council, private art foundations and Arts Council Norway.

In Trondheim the production was performed in collaboration with the art centre Kunstbanken Hedmark.
