Sharjah Art Foundation is an art foundation in the United Arab Emirates, building on the pioneering role the Sharjah Biennial has played in the artistic and cultural development of the UAE and the region. Recognizing the central and distinctive contribution that art makes to society, Sharjah Art Foundation will focus on the production and presentation of the contemporary visual arts.

Sharjah Art Foundation is inspired by the cross-fertilization and rich cultural diversity of the Emirates. The Foundation will provide both national and international leadership in art production while acting as a catalyst for cultural exchange within the region and beyond.
The Sharjah Biennial’s extensive programmes will form the core of the new Foundation, while its values will inform its mission. Cultivating the spirit of research, experimentation and the accumulation of knowledge and experience, Sharjah Art Foundation will continue in the role of artistic and cultural think-tank for the region.
