After breaking up the band Salvatore the summer of 2008, the three remaining original members Bjarne Larsen, Jon Birger "Jomba" Wormdahl and Kjell Olav Jørgensen started the band Masselys.
Salvatore was a Norwegian post-rock electronic band existing from 1998 to 2008. The band was established by John Birger Wormdahl in company with Ola Fløttum, Bjarne Larsen and Kjell Olav Jørgensen. The band was among the winners of Zoom 1998, embarking on the following Zoom tour in Norway, England and Scotland the spring of 1999. The band won the major Norwegian music award Spellemann for its album Tempo in 2002 and its album Days of Rage in 2007, both times in the category of electronic music.
