The Atlas Group
The Atlas Group is a project established in 1999 in Beirut to explore the contemporary history of Lebanon. The Atlas Group produced and found various visual and audiovisual documents that are organised in The Atlas Group Archive located in Beirut (Lebanon) and New York (USA). Through The Atlas Group, Raad reconsiders the history of Lebanon not as a concrete set of facts and events, but rather as an abstraction of memories and fantasies.
The Atlas Group is a project by the Lebanese-American artist Walid Raad.
