Gardzienice
In 1977 the Centre for Theatre Practices Gardzienice was founded in a village outside of Lublin in Poland. The founder, Wlodzimierz Staniewski, had for several years worked with the legendary director Jerzy Grotowski.

Throughout its more than 30 year long work, Gardzienice has created a series of exceptional productions, based on collecting musical and dance traditions, myths and folkloric culture in rural areas, particularly in Eastern and Southern Europe.
