Karlsvogna Theatre
Actor, director and playwright Karl Sundby established Karlsvogna Theatre in 1992 and is still the core of the theatre today. Karlsvogna aims to produce theatre for all ages, searching out an audience of adults as well as children and youth.

Within the performances Karlsvogna Theatre focuses on the searching human being, and the need to confront one’s personal values. Basically all the performances are based on people who discover a need for ethical progress within themselves, and that through honesty and responsibility reaches an inner freedom. By lifting oneself by the hair, so to speak.
The despair of existence plants seeds in the field of longing, and can be harvested as wisdom. Nothing is impossible if one returns to pure sincerity. However, on this road of inner search one must be freed of external dreams and perceptions. The goal is the stripped return to the depth of one’s thoughts and feelings, the initial inner source. Self-realisation becomes a question of values rather than superficial success.
The name Karlsvogna refers to the astronomic constellation of The Big Dipper, whose name in Norwegian means "Karl's Wagon". This is a reference to the founder Karl Sundby's name Karl as well as to a wagon, a symbol of the travelling people.
