Jon Fosse is considered one of the most important writers of our time. He debuted as an author with the novel Red, Black (1983) and has since published several novels, poetry collections, children's books, essay collections and plays. He has also translated and recreated a range of classical works.
Jon Fosse wrote his first play Someone Is Going To Come in 1992. This was staged at The Norwegian Theatre in Oslo in 1996, directed by Otto Homlung. Since then, his works have been staged over 800 times across the world. This makes Jon Fosse one of the world’s most staged contemporary playwrights.
