The photo collection of The Theatre Archive at the University of Bergen(1802)
The Theatre Archive is part of the University of Bergen's collections. The Theatre Archive includes playbills, posters, correspondence, musical scores, images, stage design drawings and costume design drawings from Det Dramatiske Selskab i Bergen (1794-?), Det Norske Theater in Bergen (1850-1863), The National Stage (1876-) and Komediateatret in Bergen (1933-1964).
In The Theatre Archive, there are also some materials from independent performing arts companies in Bergen, from school theatre activity, and from amateur theatres, all of it with main emphasis on Western Norway. In the collection, there are also director's scripts and prompter's scripts with handwritten stage directions concerning the specific productions, info on lighting, continuum etc. The media archive includes reviews of and articles about The National Stage's productions from the start. The Theatre Archive still continuously receives all materials from The National Stage's productions.
More
Sceneweb has collaborated with The Theatre Archive at the University of Bergen for several years. First we made and import of the repertoire database of The National Stage and Det Norske Theater. The repertoire database was imported to the Scenewebdatabase on June 24th 2016. After this the collaboration has been mainly in regard of digitisation and dissipation of photos originally on paper, and they have registered the entire repertoire of Komediateatret.
This collection consists of photos from the photo collection of The Theatre Archive at the University of Bergen. The photos are mainly from productions at The National Stage. If you wish to look at a specific selection of photos, for instance from the 1920es, you may search specifically for this.
Sceneweb wants to thank The Theatre Archive at The University of Bergen for the fruitful collaboration and for choosing to share the archive!
