Kiss of the Spider Woman
Kiss of the Spider Woman is a novel as well as a play by Manuel Puig. The original title in Spanish is El beso de la mujer araña.
Puig published the novel in 1976, and personally adapted it for the theatre in 1983. The world premiere took place at Bush Theatre in London in 1985.
The theatre script and the movie script are two different versions. Leonard Schraber wrote the film adaption.
Besides John Kander, Fred Ebb and Terrence McNally have made a musical version.
