Headcase
Headcase is a play by Esther Gerritsen, translated into the Norwegian by Guro Dimmen as Hodefotingen. The original title in Dutch is De Kopvoeter.
The following description of the plot is from Oslo International Theatre. The company performed the play as a staged reading in 2011:
"Lena enjoys the great success of her paintings, while she is convinced that her career is about to be ruined, if the world gets to know that she is paralysed from the neck down and paints with her mouth.
Headcase is an unsentimental and humorous play daring to break radically with social conventions. Our attitudes towards the handicapped are put on the agenda. The play also discusses how Lena's fear and need for control affect the lives of the people around her."
Headcase won the Dutch-German youth theatre award in 2008.
