The Hedda Jury gave the following reason for the 2012 direction award:

"Some of our young directors have been educated at home, others have brought exciting new impulses from abroad. Together they have given Norwegian theatre a pleasurable lift the past 15 years. So has this year's winner, who has proven a particular ability to make a text contemporary through purposefully searching for its real message, for so to create a convincing totality through uniting light, sound, physical expressivity and dance with intimate, confident person instruction.

The award goes to a splendid, entertaining reinterpretation of Black Rider at Hålogaland Theatre, and a thorough and very successful new version of Molière's The Misanthrope at Rogaland Theatre.

The Hedda award for best direction goes to Sigrid Strøm Reibo."

The Hedda Jury gave the following reason for the 2017 direction award:

"Throughout the past decade or so, this year's direction winner has worked her way to a position as one of Norway's foremost younger directors. The award winner has developed a distinct character, a signature that can be referred to as musical as well as playful, sure in style and complex. Repeatedly, she has proven that she is capable of insightful instruction of her actors, providing each character with nuanced individual characteristics while maintaining a coherent, accordant whole. The two productions for which she receives this year's award can also be defined through their similarities as well as their differences. Both of them both pay tribute to and raise the difficulties of the human capacity for transformation. Both discuss the power of changing identity, gender confusion and the meaning of love in human life. Both are solved with an overview rich in detail plus the infectious joy of storytelling."

Orlando also received The Hedda Award 2017 in the production of the year category. The Hedda Jury gave the following reason for this award:

"The Hedda Award for production of the year goes to a most distinct production with artistic quality of a rare kind. The interaction and the dynamic between the different elements were unique, and created an overabundance of a party, while it precisely addressed themes that are highly topical in contemporary society. The prize should be considered as a tribute to all artists performing in, and standing behind, the production."

In addition to this, Sigrid Strøm Reibo and Njål Helge Mjøs were nominated for The Hedda Award in the best stage text category for their adaption of Virginia Woolf's novel.

During her stay in Russia Sigrid Strøm Reibo has directed several projects besides participating as an actress in other productions. In 2009, she directed Kipling's The Cat That Walked by Himself, a production Russian theatre critics announced was the best family production of Moscow last year. Waiting for Godot at Hålogaland Theatre is her directorial debut in Norway."

Sigrid Strøm Reibo was nominated for The Hedda Award 2010 in the best direction category for the direction of Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett, Hålogaland Theatre, the eastern stage. Next she staged the "musical Stone Age comedy" Tøffe Taffy Huleboer (literally: Tough Taffy Cave Dweller, based on Kipling's short story How the first letter was written) at Brageteatret, and Haugtussa* (The Hulder) at Rogaland Theatre. This year she has also made her debut as an opera director: She staged La Bohème for The Norwegian Arctic Opera.

Sigrid Strøm Reibo also was nominated for Norwegian Critics' Award for theatre in 2011/2012 for her production of The Misanthrope, Rogaland Theatre, and for Norwegian Critics' Award for theatre in 2012/2013 for All's Well That Ends Well at Rogaland Theatre. The latter nomination she shared with her ensemble.
