The wizard's head was shaped almost like the head of a bird of prey, with a large upper beak and a significantly smaller lower beak. The head was likely shaped from Styrofoam and fortified with cotton gauze and glue, after which it was drawn by thin glove skin. It looks as if the lower chin could be opened and closed. The small, black eyes were placed far back at each side of the head. From the back end of the upper beak, small, stiff strands of hair stuck out. There were also strnads of hair handing from the front part of the same beak. The wizard was dressed in a long cape with sleeves and a high collar. His fingers were long, likely shaped from metal strings, stuffed and covered with thin glove skin.

The wizard was a rod puppet with rods or piano threads fastened to each of the puppet's hands. The puppeteer held onto the rod from the puppet's head with one hand, and the two hand rods with the other.
