FakirSkolens Eksamen* (The Fakir School Exam)

In January 2007 Pain Solution started its own fakir school called FakirSkolen, to train the next generation of fakirs. FakirSkolens Eksamen* (The Fakir School Exam) is the first full-length performance by the three students. The production is led by D. Headmaster, who presents his students; The Maniac, The Bad Boy and The Princess of Scars. They are tested in different classical sideshow acts, and have to present them for the headmaster and the audience.

The production is presented the way of a traditional sideshow, in which the different acts are connected to a complete performance with a powerful presence of dark truth. Elements of coinciding biographies, actor vs. character are carrying in the play, in which truth is presented as fiction and illusions as real.

As opposed to traditional sideshow Pain Solution puts the same emphasis on acting technique as fakir abilities, it should not just be the ability alone which impresses, but the way it is performed. In this way the artistry is enhanced and a wider audience can be captured by the at times absurd and bizarre acts performed. The shock effect of the acts is inevitable, in thread with the tradition of the genre.
