"The role is among the greatest challenges a female actor can get.
(...)
The popular, wealthy Hedda has chosen leading a life in security with the academic Jørgen (often called George in English-language productions, Sceneweb's comment) Tesmann. But after only a short time she feels imprisoned and deeply lonely. That is when Eilert Løvborg surfaces, a person from the past. A man who, for Hedda, represents freedom, the joy of living and desire. During 24 hours, powerful forces are put into play.
What happens next with Hedda has been discussed ever since the play was released in 1880. What is behind her manipulations and destructive power play? Why doesn't she just leave?
Henrik Ibsen was interested in describing human destinies as illuminated by their surroundings. When Hedda Gabler came out, public morals and women's conditions were different. Still, the portrait of Hedda still disturbs us and fascinates us. Does it reflect anything in our own lives?"
"Love runs like a red thread through the repertoire.

At the main stage, the year starts with Henrik Ibsen's Hedda Gabler. In it, we get to experience the young Stine Robin as the controversial, mysterious Hedda. The production, directed by Anne-Karen Hytten, will be stylish and timeless, while sticking close to the original."
