At the website of Haugesund Theatre the following, among other things, is written about Sviker* (Traitor):

"Her whole life,Astrid has been carrying a dark secret. After World War II, she was prosecuted for treason for serving as a nurse for the German Red Cross during the war. The hour of reckoning is here. Why hasn't she told anyone?

Astrid is an elderly woman who leads an isolated life. Only a male nurse sometimes visits her. Suddenly, her son stands in her living room. He knows, and he demands answers. What did she participate in, at the front? The confrontation makes Astrid begin to lose her grasp of reality. Past and present begin to merge. All of a sudden, her son is not the only one in the room with her, there are others there, too… What is her real betrayal?

In 2015, 70 years had passed since the end of the war. January 1 the same year the national treason archive was opened for public use, and families were forced to see members in a new light. The front nurses again became a current topic in the book Himmlers valkyrjer (literally: Himmler's Valkyries) by Eirik Gripp Bay, published in November 2017. The book judges the acts. Sviker - historien om en frontsøster is not an attempt at passing judgement, but a meditation over a human life.

Playwright Marius Leknes Snekkevåg has written the text. He has written two earlier plays for Scenekraft, Rabinowitz (2011) and Heks* (Witch) (2012). Sviker - historien om en frontsøster* (Traitor - the story of a front nurse) is the last part of his trilogy about Norway during World War II, in which Rabinowitz made up the first part and Jeg vil vaske verden ren* (I want to clean the world until it is pure) (Kilden, 2017) the second. Rabinowitz was nominated for The Hedda Award in the production of the year category."
