"Are we Norwegians more concerned with limits, borders and private property than people in other countries? Do people in cities or in the country argue the most? What does it mean that your property reaches as far out in the fiord as 'a horse can wade'?
Norwegian folklore said that the one who moved a borderstone, was sentenced to endless penitentiary work after death. He would not rest in peace in his grave, and would forever spend his time at the border, trying to move the stone marker back. Punishment is milder today. But you do risk one year in prison.
Actress Ane Skumsvoll is deeply fascinated by conflicts between neighbours- what we argue about, and have argued about, through the ages. In this production, she goes deep into border conflicts, property borders, personal boundaries, the breaking of boundaries and, not least, limitless irritation over the 'f-iiiiiiiiiiing neighbour'.
As the woman next door, Skumsvoll also promises advice about how to plant and maintain a thuja hedge, tips for getting rid of unwanted trees, and obviously also a template for neighbour notices. With her onstage is Håkon Moe, an as of yet nice neighbour who is to add music to the whole thing."
