"The externalising businessman Ian has brought Cate to his hotel room. She is a simple girl, not used to luxury. Then the soldiers arrive and the hotel is suddenly not Leeds, but Bosnia, and the action following reflects the pain and suffering Bosnia was subject to. Kane sees the situation through the eyes of the victim as well as the abuser."
