Bendik and Årolilja – Façade – Bluebeard’s Nightmare
Bendik and Årolilja - Façade - Bluebeard’s Nightmare (1960) was a ballet production by The Norwegian National Opera. The production was performed by The Norwegian National Opera in Folketeateret and comprised three ballets:
Bendik and Årolilja, choreographed by Ivo Cramér to music by Gunnar Sønstevold.
Façade, choreographed by Frederick Ashton to music by William Walton.
Bluebeard’s Nightmare, choreographed by Ivo Cramér to music by Harald Sæverud.
Bendik and Årolilja - Façade - Bluebeard’s Nightmare was performed at the Bergen International Festival in 1961.
Bendik and Årolilja and Bluebeard’s Nightmare were later premiered again together with Giacomo Puccini and Giovacchino Forzano’s opera in one act Gianni Schicchi. This triple programme was performed as a guest production at Stora Teatern in Gothenburg.
