Les Sylphides – Apollon Musagète
Les Sylphides – Apollon Musagète (1966) was a ballet production by The Norwegian National Opera. The production was performed on The Norwegian National Opera’s main stage in Folketeateret, and comprised 2 ballets:
Les Sylphides, choreographed by Michel Fokine to music by Frédéric Chopin.
Apollon Musagète, choreography by George Balanchine, music by Igor Stravinsky. (This work was re-premiered in 1967 (when it was performed together with Maurice Ravel’s opera L’heure espagnole and Act III of Napoli, choreography by August Bournonville, music by Niels Wilhelm Gade and Edgar Helstad), and in 1973.
Les Sylphides – Apollon Musagète was performed together with Act III of Napoli, choreography by August Bournonville, music by Niels Wilhelm Gade and Edgar Helstad, in 1968.
Apollon Musagète was performed in Dortmund and Bergen, together with Act II of Swan Lake and Act III of Napoli in 1967.
Les Sylphides and Apollon Musagète were performed together with Symphony in C in Lübeck in 1968.
