"Ever since the 1980es, TV has dominated the comedy genre, with many popular sitcoms. This year, Trøndelag Theatre does what it hasn't done for a long time: Staging a real theatre comedy. Humour and satire have been central in many productions over the recent years, but here, the audience is served a comedy in which it's really at home - at the theatre stage.
An enchanting ensemble is to wrestle with one of the foremost and most performed plays within theatre comedy - Noises Off by British Michael Frayn.
In it, we meet comedy characters true to type: A neurotic, intellectual director, an alcoholised actor, a super-optimist, one who keeps forgetting lines, an eternal querulant, and an overworked prompter, plus those who are so beautiful that beauty is all they can act on. In the work with staging a play, most goes wrong and the intrigues between the stereotypical characters grow increasingly wilder. The audience is included in the scandalous dress rehearsal, where props are stumble-stones and doors are missed, and in the turbulent complications to follow backstage, where misunderstandings heap up."
