At the website of The Norwegian Theatre the following, among other things, is written about Aliss at The Fire:

"Aliss at the Fire describes several generations of a family by a fiord. Signe has lost her husband. Asle never came back after a late evening in a small rowboat on the fiord in 1979. 23 years later Signe stands looking out over the fiord, from the house they lived in together, one that has belonged to Asle's family for generations. The performance has chosen a playful, interactive expression. Aliss at the Fire poses the most central questions about what makes life possible to live, and how we, as humans, process trauma across of and independent of time.

(...)

Jon Fosse is Norway's foremost playwright of his generation, but has also written characteristic, strong novels ever since his debut in 1983. His writing in drama, novels and poetry has been translated into approximately forty languages. He has been staged across large parts of the world, he has won The International Ibsen Award and The Nordic Council Literature and he is often mentioned as a candidate for The Nobel Prize in literature. This spring, we also produce Edda in a version by Fosse, at the main stage."
