Presto Legato
Presto legato by NONcomapny is a performance about time, about trying to get a grip on a generation and the time we live in. How are you supposed to be living? Can you fill the expectations? The text is fragments of observations, memories, thoughts and ideas from a generation on the verge of taking the place of our parents. Trough text, music and visual effects the company try to look back and forward in an attempt to find out where they are.

Presto legato has the form of a collage. The sound works as landscapes and sets the atmosphere in the performance. The music is mainly electronically, but with live saxophone which gives an acoustic touch and creates melodies. All the different visual elements are expressing different forms of understanding time, and create timelines or cycles. A video contentum displayed on a television makes a constant movement in the background and gives the feeling of time that just passes.
The performance is a mixture between lecture, TV show, concert, reflections, information, humour and melancholy. There will always be different ways of understanding and experiencing time. NONcomapny had gathered some of theirs in this performance.
The texts by philosopher Rune Salomonsen, writer Fanny Holmin and Lise Risom Olsen (NONcompany) was adapted and put together by NONcompany. The text worked as different voices and looked at the theme from several angles.
The music is made by Kjetil Aabø (electronics) and Øyvind Rødset (saxophone). Lena Buchacz has made the stage design, and together with Hans Skogen, the video compositions. Hans is also the lighting designer for this performance. Actress Lise Risom Olsen was performing the main parts of text.
Presto legato is a performance for the new grown-up generation and the generation they are taking over for.
The performance had its premier at the Meteorfestival at BIT Teatergarasjen, Bergen in October 2003. Presto Legato is also available in english.
