In Goldfish is meant for dying by Rudi Skotheim Jensen an autistic character invited you to a seemingly academic lecture about goldfish, desperately needing to convince the audience about their tremendous importance.
In Goldfish is meant for dying we gradually tumbled into a bizarre version of reality as the character merged with his subject matter, and the stage was submerged in an underwater atmosphere, which allowed us to experience the world from an unusual perspective. In this performance lecture, we reflected on the principles of empathy and the effects of global media society on our vulnerable private lives.
Goldfish is meant for dying was no sugary tear jerker, but a heartfelt call to wake up and smell the goldfish!
Goldfish is meant for dying by Rudi Skotheim Jensen was created with the support of Arts Council Norway, the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs/MFA (travel grant/performing arts), Nordic Culture Point, TheatreWorks in Singapore, WELD Theatre in Stockholm and New Nordic Circus Network.
