A Broadcast/Looping Pieces
A Broadcast/Looping Pieces (2015) is a performing arts production by Forced Entertainment. A Broadcast/Looping Pieces is an improvised solo performance organised as a lecture, based on excerpts from Tim Etchells' note book. Over several years he has collected different types of texts, ideas, conversations, excerpts from newspapers and webpages in a continuously growing Word document.
The material is remixed by Etchells in front of the audience, aiming to create unexpected dialogues and linguistic collisions. Forced Entertainment wants A Broadcast/Looping Pieces to act as a window into Etchells' creative process and his approach to the text.
The production was performed as a visiting performance at The National Theatre during The Ibsen Festival 2016. Forced Entertainment received The International Ibsen Award the same year.
