Førstereis* (Rookie)
Førstereis* (Rookie) (2011) was a theatre production by The National Stage, the world premire of a monologue by Morten Lorentzen. The production was first performed in Teaterkjelleren, The National Stage. IN 2014 it was performed on tour with The Norwegian Touring Theatre.
Lasse Kolsrud directed it.
Helge Jordal performed the monologue.
In a shortened version, Førstereis was broadcast as an audio play by Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation's radio drama division, in 2012.

"Night after night, Helge Jordal has performed Førstereis for sold-out houses at The National Stage. Now, he travels along the coast with the theatrical history about the orphanage boy Martin who escapes to sea.
We join him in his shifts on the bridge, on leave in Antwerp, celebrating Christmas onboard, all alone at the wide-open sea, and the meeting with the beautiful Christina from Rio de Janeiro, after which he is never entirely the same…
Førstereis springs out from the golden age of Norwegian shipping after World War II. An epoch when the opportunity to be a sailor saved many a young man."
